The Teaching Team

Keith Mcneill


Keith graduated from Melbourne University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Teaching with Honours. He has spent his entire teaching career so far at Princes Hill Primary and he has a particular interest in reading education and film making in schools. Keith has a responsibility for student wellbeing, and the 1-to-1 computers across the 3/4 neighbourhoods. His main curriculum responsibility this year is numeracy.

Melinda Cashen

Mel had her first year of teaching in 2000 and has worked primary schools in regional Victoria, London and Melbourne. She has an interest in digital learning and is the vice president of Digital Learning and Teaching Victoria which supports educators in the area of digital technologies. This is Mel's first year teaching at Princes Hill.

Nic Carman


Nic graduated from Deakin University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Teaching. This is Nic's third year teaching at Princes Hill.
Nic runs the Ukulele club and enjoys sound production. This year he is part of the literacy team.


Laura Luzar

Laura graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Education in the Creative Arts P-12 and has taught in the primary school setting since 2008. Laura is an emerging Melbourne Artist that has exhibited works in various locations around Melbourne and is always working towards the next exhibition. Laura has had vast experience as a leader in mathematics in her previous school setting and has great interests in languages and musical performances. This is Laura’s first year teaching at Princes Hill.

Robert Vandahl

Robert has been at Princes Hill since 2012 when he first started as a teaching candidate from Melbourne University. He has a background in visual arts and communications and as a result has interests in these areas. Currently, Robert plans literacy in the 3/4 neighbourhood alongside Nic and Keith. Outside of school Robert enjoys travel, photography, keeping up to date with digital technologies and writing autobiographies in the third person.
